Yoga is a complete system of movement, breathing, sound and meditation developed thousands of years ago in India.
There are many styles and types of yoga available these days. I have been trained extensively in the Viniyoga approach and find that the most adaptable style to work with people of all ages, interests and capabilities.Yoga Therapy (as defined through the International Association of Yoga Therapy) is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and practice of Yoga.
This is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. The Viniyoga style caters positions to individual student needs and abilities. Function is focused upon over form, with an emphasis on integrating the flow of movement of the breath with the movement of the spine. The benefits of yoga practice include more core strength, flexibility, increased mental concentration and clarity, in addition to building the immune system, balancing the emotions, and cultivating a sense of inner peace. Yoga movements and breath mastery release tension and stress and work at deep levels to assist you to enjoy a life full of health and well-being.
